Our Journey

I did everything I knew to stop generational patterns within my family from impacting my children. I was determined to stop all the patterns and provide a different path and way for us. I did all the reading, the therapy, the “work” to protect my children. It became my mission and what fueled my career. And, I could not protect them from the harm of racism. I was intentional about raising them in Boulder because of it’s liberal and accepting community. After years of racial discrimination (covert and overt) at the hands of their peers and adults, my child almost lost her life. The lack of support from the school district and community was the hardest for me to understand.

Compass Edge was born from a realization that individual healing is incomplete without addressing the oppressive structures of colonization that shape our internal worlds. There simply aren’t many accessible ways to assist people who have the good intentions but are unaware of these harmful systems and how they contribute to them. Compass Edge fills in the gap between performative action and authentic liberation.

Today, our focus is on sustainable and effective liberation; starting with the individual. I believe that when we heal our minds from systemic harm, we protect  all of our children.  I invite you to join me in this intimate, raw process of rebuilding our communities from within, one conscious shift at a time.

****All of our workshops donate mental health services to our local BIPOC community. Many of our workshops donate 2+ sessions per workshop participants. We also accept donations towards our community fund.
